Before and After Care
-
Thoughtful preparation and aftercare play an important role in both the longevity of your extensions and the health of your natural lashes.
Before Your Lash Extensions Appointment
To achieve the best possible result, please arrive with clean, makeup-free lashes.
Clean lashes
Ensure lashes are free from makeup, oils and mascara.Avoid waterproof mascara
Avoid use for 2–3 days prior, as it can be difficult to remove and may affect adhesion.Arrive makeup-free
Avoid eye makeup and skincare around the eye area.Remove contact lenses
For comfort and safety during your appointment.Time to unwind
Appointments take time, so you can simply lie back and relax. After Your Lash Extensions Appointment
Be gentle
Avoid rubbing, pulling or touching your lashes, as this can cause premature shedding and damage your natural lashes.Be mindful of products
Keep oil-based products away from the eye area. Heavier ingredients such as waxes and glycerin around the orbital area can also affect retention.Eye makeup considerations
Avoid mascara, gel liner and pencil liner directly on the lash line.
If you prefer added definition, a soft eyeshadow or liquid liner is best.Limit heat and steam
Excessive heat can affect the integrity of the extensions.
Be mindful of direct heat from hair dryers, ovens, stovetops, BBQs, fires, saunas, hot yoga and prolonged exposure to hot water. No lash curlers
Mechanical curlers can damage both your extensions and natural lashes. While you sleep
Sleeping on your back or using a silk pillowcase can help reduce friction.Daily maintenance
Gently brush your lashes with a clean spoolie to keep them neat and separated.Infills
To maintain a full, even lash line, appointments are recommended every 2–3 weeks, depending on your natural lash cycle and lifestyle.Cleansing your Lash Extensions
Consistent cleansing is key to maintaining both lash health and long-lasting results.
Without regular cleansing, oils, makeup residue and debris can build up along the lash line, impacting retention and overall lash condition.
Why it matters
Regular cleansing supports clean, healthy lashes, prevents build-up and irritation, enhances retention and maintains a soft, full finish.
How to cleanse
Use a lash-safe, oil-free cleanser specifically designed for extensions (available in studio)
Cleanse regularly
Cleanse every second night if not wearing makeup, nightly if wearing makeup, and always after workouts or sweating.01 - Apply using a soft brush or fingertips
02 - Gently cleanse along the lash line using downward motions
03 - Rinse with lukewarm water
04 - Pat dry by gently pressing down with a clean towel or paper towel
05 - Once dry, brush through with a clean spoolie
Avoid regular face wash, baby shampoo and oil-based removers, as these can weaken the adhesive and lead to premature shedding.

Before Your Keratin Lash Lift Appointment
Avoid Mascara – Refrain from wearing mascara for at least 24 hours before your appointment. This ensures that your lashes are clean and ready for the treatment.
Clean Lashes – Make sure your lashes are free from makeup, oils and other products before the appointment. Clean lashes allow the keratin solution to adhere properly.
Arrive Makeup-Free – Arrive with a clean face, free of eye makeup or creams around the eye area. This helps the process go smoothly and ensures the best results.
Avoid Eye Creams or Oils – For best results, avoid using eye creams or oils on your lashes and the surrounding area for 24 hours prior to the treatment. These can interfere with the bonding process.
Be Prepared to Relax – The procedure typically takes 45-60 minutes, so plan for a relaxed, comfortable session where you will need to keep your eyes closed. After your Keratin Lash Lift Appointment
Aftercare post lash lift is integral in keeping the natural lashes supple and ensures a smooth transition back to your natural lash line over the next 6-8 weeks.
Avoid Water for 24 Hours – Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hours after your treatment.
Don’t Apply Mascara Immediately – Wait at least 24 hours before applying mascara. Avoid waterproof mascara completely or any other eye products that require a lot of rubbing to remove.
Avoid Rubbing or Pulling Your Lashes – Be gentle with your lashes. Avoid rubbing, pulling, or tugging on them as this can cause them to break or fall out prematurely.
No Oil-Based Products – Avoid using oil-based makeup removers, cleansers, or products around your lashes for at least 48 hours. These can weaken the lift and affect the longevity of the treatment.
Brush Your Lashes – Use a clean spoolie to gently comb through your lashes daily. This will help keep them looking neat, separated, and lifted.
Avoid Heat and Steam – For the first 48 hours, avoid exposing your lashes to heat, steam, or excessive humidity (e.g., hot showers, saunas, or hot tubs). This allows the keratin solution to fully set.Apply an After Care Serum for Moisture, Strength and Shine - After your lash lift, it's important to keep your natural lashes nourished and hydrated to maintain their strength and flexibility. A moisture-boosting lash serum like Elleebana Elleeplex Advanced Aftercare (available in studio) is an important addition to your aftercare routine.
Why it helps:
Replenishes moisture lost during the lifting process
Strengthens and conditions the natural lash structure
Enhances gloss and shine for a healthy, polished look
Helps prevent dryness, brittleness or breakage
Supports long-term lash health and encourages growth
How to use:
Apply Elleeplex to clean, dry lashes once or twice daily. Focus on the roots and work through to the tips. It can be worn alone or under mascara for added nourishment and shine.Incorporating Elleeplex into your daily routine helps maintain the lift and keeps your lashes looking their best between appointments.
A nourishing serum is especially important if you plan to lift your lashes regularly, as it helps maintain the integrity and appearance of your natural lashes over time.
Additional Tips
Limit Eyelash Curling – Avoid using eyelash curlers on your lashes. The lift is designed to create a natural curl, and using curlers can damage the lashes.
Maintaining your Lift– Keratin lash lifts last for about 6-8 weeks. As your natural lashes shed and grow, the lift will gradually fade. We recommend scheduling appointments every 6-8 weeks to maintain the lifted look. -
Before Your Brow Wax, Tint / Dye Appointment
Cleanse Your Brows – Make sure your brows are free from makeup, oils, and lotions before your appointment. Clean brows allow for better results and ensure the tint, dye, or wax adheres properly.
Don’t Apply Moisturizers or Oils – Do not apply any oils, creams, or moisturizers to the area before your appointment. These products can create a barrier on your skin, making it difficult for the wax or tint to adhere properly.
Avoid Sun Exposure – Try not to sunbathe 24 hours before your appointment. Sunburned or overly sensitive skin can cause irritation during the waxing process.
Let Your Brows Grow – If you want a more defined shape, try to let your brows grow out a bit before your appointment, especially for waxing.
Retinol and Exfoliating Products – If you use retinol, exfoliating acids, or other active ingredients, avoid using them on your brow area 5-7 days before your appointment. These products can make your skin more sensitive, which can increase the likelihood of irritation and the skin lifting during waxing. After your Brow Wax, Tint / Dye Appointment
Avoid Water and Sweat for 24 Hours – After your brow waxing, tinting, or dyeing session, avoid getting the area wet for the first 24 hours.
No Makeup on Brows for 24 Hours – Avoid applying makeup, including brow pencil or gel, on the brow area for at least 24 hours after your treatment to allow the tint or dye to fully set.
Avoid Touching or Rubbing Your Brows – After waxing, avoid touching or rubbing your brows as this can cause irritation or disrupt the shape.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals and Exfoliants – For the first 48 hours, refrain from using exfoliants or any harsh skincare products around the brow area, as this could fade the tint or dye and irritate the skin.
Keep the Area Moisturized – After waxing, use a gentle moisturizer to keep the skin around your brows hydrated and prevent irritation.
Avoid Sun Exposure – For at least 48 hours after the treatment, avoid direct sun exposure. The skin around your brows will be more sensitive after waxing, and excessive sun can cause irritation or fading of the tint/dye.
Be Gentle When Cleansing – When washing your face, avoid scrubbing the brow area. Use a gentle cleanser and be careful around the brows to avoid disturbing the shape or fading the color.
Don't Use Oil-Based Products – If you’re using any skincare or makeup products near your brows, make sure they’re not oil-based, as oil can cause the tint or dye to fade more quickly.Avoid Chemical Peels – If you plan on getting a chemical peel or any facial treatments, wait at least 48 hours after brow waxing or tinting. Harsh treatments can interfere with the tint and cause skin irritation.
Tint and Dye Care – The tint or dye usually lasts around 3-6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle and aftercare. To maintain a longer-lasting result, avoid excessive exfoliation and keep your brows moisturized.
Touch-Up Appointments – If you want to keep your brows looking fresh and defined, schedule a touch-up appointment every 4-6 weeks for waxing, tinting, or dyeing.Additional Tips
Gentle Brow Brushing – If your brows need to be shaped between appointments, use a clean spoolie to brush them into place. Avoid plucking or tweezing between sessions to maintain the best shape and results.

Before Your Spray Tan Appointment
Exfoliate – Exfoliate your skin 24 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and ensure an even tan. Focus on areas that tend to be drier, such as elbows, knees, and ankles.
Shave or Wax – If you plan to shave or wax, do so at least 24 hours before your spray tan to avoid irritation. Shaving immediately before your appointment can cause your skin to be too sensitive.
Avoid Moisturising – Do not apply moisturiser, oils, or deodorants on the day of your appointment. These can create a barrier on your skin, preventing the spray tan from developing properly.
Wear Loose, Dark Clothing – After your spray tan, wear loose-fitting, dark-colored clothes to avoid staining and to prevent the tan from rubbing off. Tight clothing can cause streaking.
Remove Makeup and Jewelry – Make sure to remove any makeup, lotions, deodorants, or jewelry before your appointment. These products can interfere with the tanning solution and affect the results. After your Spray Tan Appointment
Avoid Water for 1-8 Hours – For the first 1-8 hours (depending on the solution you’re sprayed with) after your spray tan, avoid getting your skin wet. This includes showering, swimming, or sweating excessively. Water can cause the tan to streak or fade unevenly.
Don’t Rub or Scratch Your Skin – After your tan, avoid rubbing or scratching your skin. This can cause the tan to come off unevenly or patchy.
Shower Carefully – When you do shower after the recommended waiting period, use lukewarm water and no products or a very gentle sulphate free body wash. Avoid scrubbing your skin with a loofah or exfoliator, as this can strip the tan.
Pat Dry After Showering – After showering, gently pat your skin dry with a towel instead of rubbing it. This helps preserve the tan and avoid streaking.
Moisturise Regularly – Keep your skin hydrated by applying a moisturiser daily. Dry skin will cause the tan to fade more quickly, so moisturising helps extend the life of your tan.
Avoid Exfoliating – Try to avoid exfoliating your skin for at least 5-7 days after your spray tan. Exfoliation can cause the tan to fade faster by removing the top layer of skin.
Avoid Hot Showers and Sweating – Avoid hot showers, saunas, and excessive sweating for 24-48 hours after your spray tan. Heat and sweat can cause the tan to fade unevenly.
Wear Sunscreen – While spray tans provide a sun-kissed glow, they do not protect against UV rays. Be sure to wear sunscreen if you are exposed to the sun.
Top Up Your Tan – For a consistent glow, consider scheduling a touch-up every 7-10 days, depending on how your skin naturally sheds.
Avoid Tight Clothing – Tight clothing can rub against your skin and affect the evenness of your tan. Stick to loose, comfortable clothing for the first few hours after your spray tan.
